Hi! My name is Alyssa
I am so excited to start your counseling journey with you! I understand how this can feel like an overwhelming and scary process to start. Sometimes in life, it helps to have a person to talk through the good and the not so good moments we experience. The emotions and challenges we face can be hard to navigate on our own, especially if we don’t know the first steps in how to navigate them! You don’t have to face them on your own. My hope is that together we can create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore, process and grow within. Together, we can create goals and uncover skills to be able to adapt to whatever life may throw your way.
I have always had a passion for working alongside and supporting others through the highs and lows life puts in our paths. I was able to dive into and explore that passion while I attended Sam Houston State University where I graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology in 2019. Following that, I made an eight hour move to attend Texas Tech University where I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am now happy to call Houston my home and join Calderas Counseling as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Lauren Prasse, LPC-S.
I enjoy and have had experience working with all age groups ranging from children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings. My clinical experience include working with clients who have or are struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Self-Harm, Self-Esteem, and Adjustment Disorder among other struggles
which present through various life transitions. I commonly work from a multifaceted approach which includes Person Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me and I hope to have the opportunity to learn about you soon!
