Hi! My name is Erin
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in the State of Texas. I love to run and visit the beach as often as I can. I grew up in a small town in southeastern Oklahoma. I graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Southeastern Oklahoma. I then pursued my graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling at Ashland University in Ohio. I became passionate about helping others while volunteering with homeless and domestic violence shelters and I was inspired to be a person in my professional and private life that spent my days helping others find peace and purpose in their lives. I became a counselor because I am passionate about helping people who feel they have become powerless over their life circumstances or mental health. Life can become challenging and overwhelming. It is not uncommon to feel lost or ineffective when trying to change certain life situations. You are not alone and it is okay to ask for help. You may need an unbiased and compassionate person to help you gain and improve the skills necessary to manage these challenges. I hope to be that person for you and walk along your journey with you until you have the strength and resources to continue on your own. I work from a variety of techniques and therapy modalities pulling from person centered, cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic theories to help meet the client’s individual needs. I am also trained in Polyvagal theory and EMDR. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples. Client concerns I work mostly with are anxiety, depression, behavioral, emotional, and trauma treatment.
