Team Member Spotlight-Carolina
This week we are featuring Carolina. She is a wonderful therapist who specializes in working with adults and couples. Carolina loves learning and creates great therapeutic relationships with her clients.
What we love about her: her confidence + great sense of style (her outfits are always amazing!) and her wealth of knowledge (she thinks outside the box and brings great ideas to our meetings).
Enjoy her answers:
Why do you love being a part of Calderas Counseling?
I love being able to work independently while still being a part of a team. Sharing ideas with other clinicians is an important part of furthering professional growth. I also love how beautiful our offices are! I enjoy coming to work knowing my clients and I enjoy the space we are in.
What do you enjoy most about your work with clients?
I enjoy learning about myself and others through clients. All relationships are mirrors into who we are and how we are perceiving the world around us. The better your therapist knows themselves, the better therapy they are able to provide. The therapeutic relationships I establish with my clients is nourishing to both my professional and personal life.
What challenged you this week? Could you have handled it differently?
Family. Family dynamics can be a challenge for anyone. Instead of taking a more active stance, I opted to sit and listen. I typically don't do that! Taking my time to respond to a situation before reacting seems to be generally a healthier (maybe even smarter!) way of handling it.
What three things do you need to succeed for the week?
This week I need 1) Plenty of sleep 2) Time to be creative 3) Being present
Who inspires you?
Oscar Wilde. I have a whole section in my Pinterest that consists solely of Oscar Wilde quotes. Very cheesy, but I love it. I recently heard a podcast on his life story and was moved by how much he was forced to sacrifice in order to be himself. The manner in which he lived his life impressed upon me perhaps some of the most important values I hold: to be authentic and to be creative.
Have a wonderful week,
