Hi! My name is Tran

I appreciate you taking the time to read more about me as you start, restart, or continue your therapeutic journey. I pride myself in being very welcoming and open to meeting new people, while still maintaining an honest and casual style. Everyone I meet has their own stories, and my priority is to help you become the version of yourself that you would like to see.

I believe that everyone has to start somewhere, and the process can be difficult at times. As a therapist, I focus on being person-centered and multicultural no matter the situation. Above all, I promise to always have positive regard and provide a welcoming and safe space for you. If you are unsure of where to start, we can work together to figure out what direction you want to head toward. My job is to empower you as a person and help you gain the skills you need to live the life you want.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Cynthia Nava, M.S., LPC-S. I immigrated here from Vietnam when I was 10 years old with my parents, and I've lived in Houston, TX for the majority of my adolescence before moving to Pittsburgh, PA for my undergraduate and master's degrees. I earned my B.S. in Psychology and my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Pittsburgh, and after graduation, I moved back to Houston to be closer to my family.

My passion is in working with college-aged students, young adults, and adults who experience concerns about anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, life changes, and related symptoms. A specialty of mine is to help my clients explore the connection between their childhood and the relationships in their life, whether that is familial ties, friendships, or romantic relationships. I use a combination of Attachment Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, among other modalities. I like to mix and match theoretical orientation on a case-by-case basis, so you can always look forward to the work we will do in session as I want to make therapy fun and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Outside of my time as a therapist, I am always on the lookout for a new restaurant or cuisine to try (self-proclaimed foodie and amateur chef). I love spending time with my cats, traveling, and watching historical documentaries about random periods in time.

Finding the right therapist could be hard, but I hope my bio helps make that decision a little easier for you. If you think I could be the right fit for you, I am happy to meet and get to know you more!
